Privacy policy for Quiet Hours

Who this covers

This policy applies to Quiet Hours (package com.matinstudios.quiethours), the Android app published by Matin Studios on Google Play. It does not cover any other app, including our other titles — each has its own policy, listed on the studio privacy page.

In this document, "we" and "us" mean Matin Studios, and "the app" means Quiet Hours. "Personal data" means any information that could identify you, on its own or combined with something else.

What we do not collect

Quiet Hours collects no personal data. There is no sign-up, no account, no profile and no server belonging to us for the app to talk to. Specifically, we do not collect:

• Your name, email address, phone number or any other contact detail.
• Your location, at any precision.
• Your contacts, photos, files, messages or calendar.
• Your advertising ID, device ID or any other persistent identifier.
• Analytics or usage statistics of any kind.
• Crash reports containing anything about you.

Because we collect nothing, there is nothing for us to lose in a breach, nothing to hand over on request, and nothing to sell. That is deliberate.

Who else sees it

Nobody. Quiet Hours includes no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no third-party service that receives data about you. The app makes no network requests of its own.

Permissions the app asks for

Android will only ever grant what the app declares. This is the complete list, with the reason for each.

• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — Shows the running timer and tells you when a session ends.
• ACCESS_NOTIFICATION_POLICY — Optional. Lets the app switch Do Not Disturb on during a session.

Optional permissions can be refused, and the rest of the app keeps working. You can review or revoke anything granted in Settings → Apps → Quiet Hours → Permissions.

Storage and retention

Your preferred session length is saved on your device. Nothing leaves it.

Uninstalling Quiet Hours removes everything it saved on your device. If Android's own backup service is switched on for your account, your device may include the app's settings in that backup — that copy is held by Google under Google's privacy policy, not by us, and you can turn it off in your device's backup settings.

Your choices

Depending on where you live, data protection law — such as the GDPR in the UK and EU, or the CCPA in California — gives you the right to ask what data an organisation holds about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to object to how it is used.

We can honour any such request instantly, because the answer is always the same: we hold nothing about you. To delete everything Quiet Hours has ever stored, uninstall it.

Changes to this policy

If the app changes what it does with data, this page changes with it, and the "last updated" date at the top moves. Substantial changes will also be noted in the app's Google Play release notes. We do not quietly rewrite history — the policy in force is the one you can read here.
